Foothill Garden
The Greenhouse Project partnered with Carson Tahoe Health to establish the Foothill Garden, a sustainable garden of fresh vegetables in a hoop house, raised, and in-ground beds.
In a bountiful community collaboration with Carson Tahoe Health in late summer 2017, The Greenhouse Project established a state-of-the art hoop house and several raised planting beds, collectively called The Foothill Garden.
Located behind the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center in north Carson City, Foothill Garden complements Carson Tahoe’s existing Creekside Garden on the west side of the Regional Medical Center Campus, which has been growing fresh produce and herbs since 2013. The gardens are managed by The Greenhouse Project, using our expertise in Nevada agriculture, worked by students who want to learn more about sustainability, and several helpful volunteers.
The gardens on the Carson Tahoe campus provide vegetables year-round to The Eagle Valley Children’s Home and seniors in our community through Meals on Wheels. Throughout the year, we’ll be hosting informative gardening classes on various topics. To learn more about TGP's workshops, go here. Many thanks to Carson Tahoe Health for joining us in this “growing” collaboration.
